Jessica Petro - Receptionist

I am originally from Welland and moved to Scarborough to go to school. While attending U of T, I heard through an aquaintance that the clinic was looking for a receptionist and so I applied for the position. After meeting with the office manager and vet technician I was hired and have been working at the clinic since.
Generally speaking, I can always be found in one of three places, work, class, or home. When the rare chance for free time comes around, I enjoy swimming, watching Heroes, playing video games, spending time with my boyfriend and cats, and reading.
When I am home my two cats Xero and Malli keep me company and on my toes! A few weeks in the clinic I fell in love with two kittens that had been dropped off at the front door with 5 others. There were a few different litters, one of which was a litter of three black kittens- incredibly tiny and young. One of the three was not able to continue in this life, but the other two grew up well and became great friends.
When up for adoption many people came in and thought about taking either the boy or the girl and I couldn’t bear to see the two separated, so I made arrangements and adopted my two trouble makers as soon as I could. Malli has become quite the bold adventurer and takes to getting into as much trouble as she can get away with. Xero on the other hand is mommy’s little boy, and the genius of the two. He’s very watchful and has already figured out how to open the door to the food cupboard. *sigh* Childproof locks are great inventions.

Jessica's Treats
- When trick-or-treating as a kid, was there any kind of candy that you didn't like to get? Anything healthy- namely apples. On the other hand, people who gave out juice boxes, or closed liquid were geniuses. It gets tiring to walk to so many houses!
- Name your favorite children's story. The Tale of Two Bad Mice (starring Tom Thumb and Hunca Munca).
- What is your favorite season? Autumn. The colours and the cool air are wonderful. Plus there’s nothing like crunching a dried leaf under your foot.
- What is your favorite smell? Leather, burnt wood (campfires) and vanilla.
- If you can give one sentence advice about how to live life, what would it be? Forget about the material things. Though they make life comfy, experience is something that you will never loose.
- What is the weirdest (unusual) thing you've ever eaten? Alligator.
- Have you ever been a participant in a parade? What did you do? When I was part of the Slovak dance group in Welland, I participated in the annual city parade. One year I was even the Queen of the league!
